A continuous thread of support through pregnancy, birth, and the early weeks of becoming.
Begin Your EnquiryPregnancy, birth and the early weeks that follow are often spoken about as separate stages. But in the body, in the home, in the relationship, and in the becoming of a family, they are deeply connected.
What happens before birth shapes how you meet it.
What happens during birth can shape how the early weeks are carried.
And what happens afterwards often asks for the same steadiness, trust and continuity that preparation began to build.
The Golden Door is private, continuous support across this whole transition — from pregnancy, through birth, and into the early postnatal weeks.
Not as separate stages.
But as one experience, held with continuity.
What This Is
It brings together birth support, postnatal care and therapeutic presence within one continuous arc of care.
This is for those who do not want to piece support together at a time when so much is already changing.
There is structure, so you are not left to navigate the experience alone.
And within that structure, there is space for the support to be shaped around you, your family, your circumstances and what this transition asks of you.
The Experience
This may include exploring your preferences, understanding your options, preparing your partner, working with fears or uncertainties, and creating a clearer sense of what matters most to you as you approach birth.
Through birth, I am a steady presence — supporting you practically, emotionally and relationally as the experience unfolds.
This includes helping you stay connected to your choices, supporting communication where needed, tending to the atmosphere around you, and remaining attuned to the quieter shifts that can shape how birth is carried afterwards.
After birth, support continues into the early weeks at home.
This is where rest, recovery, feeding, newborn care, emotional integration and family adjustment begin to take form. The support may be practical, therapeutic, relational or restorative, depending on what is needed.
Because the support is continuous, you are not having to explain yourself again at each new stage, hold the whole picture alone, or piece together care while you are already inside the experience.
The same thread continues through pregnancy, birth and the early weeks that follow.
What Is Included
The Golden Door includes a private arc of support across pregnancy, birth and the early postnatal weeks.
At its foundation, this includes:
- dedicated preparation during pregnancy
- emotional and practical birth support
- on-call availability around your estimated due date
- continuous support during labour and birth
- postnatal support in the early weeks after your baby arrives
- space to process, integrate and adjust as the experience unfolds
- support for your partner and the relational changes around becoming a family
The shape of the support is bespoke, but the intention remains consistent: to create continuity, steadiness and depth across the whole transition.
Rather than arranging birth support, postnatal care and emotional support separately, The Golden Door brings these elements together within one continuous arc of care.
This allows the support to respond to the whole experience — not only to the moment of birth, or the early weeks in isolation.
Continuity
Rather than meeting different people at each stage, The Golden Door creates a consistent thread through pregnancy, birth and the early postnatal weeks.
Someone who knows you.
Who understands your preferences, your concerns, your partner, your context, and the way you move through things.
Someone who has been with you in the preparation, remains with you through birth, and can meet you afterwards without needing you to begin again.
This can bring steadiness to the whole experience — not because everything becomes predictable, but because you are not having to carry it all alone.
Bespoke Support
The Golden Door has a clear foundation, but the way support is held will depend on your circumstances, your preferences, your birth setting, your postnatal needs, your partner, and the emotional landscape of this transition.
This may include the rhythm of postnatal support, the level of therapeutic work included, how your partner is supported, and how the care adapts as your needs become clearer.
A clear foundation of support is agreed at the beginning, with space for the support to expand where needed.
The intention is that you are not left trying to piece support together at a time when your energy is already being asked for elsewhere.
Who This Is For
It may be for you if you know you want more than separate pieces of care, and would feel steadier with one consistent person who understands the full arc of what you are moving through.
You may value privacy, depth, emotional intelligence and practical care.
You may want to feel prepared for birth, supported through it, and met afterwards without having to begin again.
Some people arrive here knowing they want this level of continuity from the beginning.
Others are simply aware that they do not want to navigate this threshold alone.
There are different ways to be supported. The Golden Door is for those who feel drawn to steadiness, continuity and a more integrated experience of care.
Investment & Working Together
The Golden Door is a bespoke private offering, shaped around the level of continuity, postnatal support and therapeutic presence you are seeking across pregnancy, birth and the early weeks that follow.
Because this work holds a significant arc of time, availability and attention, I take on a very limited number of Golden Door clients.
The investment will depend on the shape of support we agree on together, including the rhythm of postnatal care and the level of therapeutic support included.
If this way of being supported feels right, you are welcome to begin with an enquiry. Share a little about where you are, your estimated due date, and what feels important for me to know at this stage.
I will read your enquiry with care and, where appropriate, invite you to a 30-minute private introduction call.
If you are looking for more focused birth support, you may wish to explore The Threshold instead.
What You May Be Wondering
The answers below are here to offer a little more clarity before you begin.
How is The Golden Door different from The Threshold?
The Threshold is focused birth support, with preparation during pregnancy, continuous support through labour and birth, and early postnatal visits afterwards.
The Golden Door holds a wider arc.
It brings together pregnancy preparation, birth support, postnatal care and therapeutic presence within one continuous experience of support.
Rather than beginning with birth as the central focus, The Golden Door begins with the whole transition in view: how you prepare, how you are supported through birth, and how you are met in the early weeks that follow.
If you know you want focused support for birth, The Threshold may be the right place to begin.
If you are looking for a more integrated experience across pregnancy, birth and the early postnatal weeks, The Golden Door may be more appropriate.
Is this a fixed package?
No.
The Golden Door has a clear foundation, but it is not a fixed package in the usual sense.
Every family arrives with different circumstances, needs, preferences, support networks, birth plans, emotional histories and hopes for the early weeks.
The shape of support is agreed together, with continuity at the centre. This may include the rhythm of postnatal care, the level of therapeutic support included, how your partner is supported, and how the care adapts as your needs become clearer.
There is structure, but not rigidity.
What if I do not know how much postnatal support I will need yet?
You do not need to know exactly what the early weeks will ask of you before reaching out.
When The Golden Door is arranged, we will agree a clear foundation for postnatal support based on your circumstances, preferences, support network and what you feel you would like to have in place.
If your needs change once your baby arrives, the support can be reviewed and adjusted where there is availability. Any meaningful change to the level or rhythm of support may also be reflected in the investment.
The intention is to give you continuity and steadiness, while allowing the support to remain responsive to what unfolds.
Can therapeutic support be included?
Yes, where appropriate.
The Golden Door can include therapeutic presence as part of the wider arc of support. This may be helpful if you are carrying anxiety, fear, previous experiences, emotional overwhelm, identity change, or a desire to feel more internally prepared for birth and the early weeks.
Therapeutic support may be woven into preparation, offered as dedicated sessions, or used to support integration after birth.
If something you are carrying needs a different level of therapeutic or specialist care, I will be honest about that and guide you towards the most appropriate support.
Is this only for first-time parents?
No.
The Golden Door can be especially meaningful for second or subsequent babies, because you may already know what you want to experience differently this time.
Perhaps you want stronger continuity, protected rest, emotional steadiness, practical care at home, or a clearer sense of support around your whole family.
Some people come to this offering as they enter parenthood for the first time.
Others come because they have been through it before, and now understand the value of being supported across the whole experience.
What happens after I enquire?
Once your enquiry arrives, I will read it with care and respond personally.
If The Golden Door feels like it may be appropriate, and there is availability around your estimated due date, I will invite you to arrange a 30-minute private introduction call.
This gives us space to meet, speak briefly about where you are, and begin to understand what this arc of support might look like for you.
The introduction call is not a full planning session. The deeper shaping of support happens once we have decided to work together, or within a dedicated Clarity Session if you need more space before choosing what feels right.
If The Golden Door is not the most appropriate starting point, I will be honest with you and may guide you towards The Threshold, The Nest, The Inner Room, a Clarity Session, or another form of support.
