Dear Parent,
I want to pause for a moment and honour the care you give.
The visible care.
The invisible care.
The care that happens in the middle of the night, in the spaces between feeds, in the quiet calculations no one else sees.
The remembering.
The noticing.
The holding of needs, rhythms, appointments, questions, emotions and small details that make up the life of a family.
There may be moments when love feels clear and close.
And moments when tiredness, uncertainty or the weight of responsibility make it harder to feel yourself within it all.
Both can be true.
You can love your baby deeply and still feel stretched.
You can be grateful and still need more support.
You can be capable and still feel unsure.
You can be becoming a parent and still be finding your way back to yourself.
None of this means you are failing.
It means you are human, moving through one of life’s most significant transitions.
Let this be a small place to land on the days that feel heavy.
A reminder that your experience matters too.
Not only your baby’s needs.
Not only the practical tasks.
Not only how well you seem to be managing from the outside.
You are part of this story.
Your body.
Your heart.
Your identity.
Your rest.
Your becoming.
You deserve to be met with care in the moments that feel beautiful, and in the ones that feel distant, uncertain or hard to name.
With warmth,
Elizabeth
